Getafe 0 - 0 Fc Barcelona 

Fc Barcelona kick started their season away from home to the Coliseum Alfonso Perez Stadium in Getafe, Spain. 

The match ended up as a draw as Getafe stood their grounds against the Champions of Spain. 

There were so many controversy in the decision making from Cesar Soto Grado who officiated the game.

The first match of Barça season might very well turn out to be the worst, and the entire match was truly unwatchable.

Some Key points to take home

• We struggle against low block team. Getafe came into this game not looking for a win but just to frustrate Barcelona & clearly some of the players fell for it and even Xavi the coach of Fc Barcelona.

• Fc struggle against low block teams. This is an aspect Xavi needs to improve. Getting all 3 points from teams like this would win you the league easily. 

To break their defense, Fc Barcelona must move the ball faster. 

• Fc Barcelona attacking threat was poor in the first half until Xavi introduced Ansu Fati and Lamine Yamal into the game in the second half. Raphinha, Lewandoski were lost in the game. 

It is no brainer that Fc Barcelona need a backup striker as soon as possible. Depending only on Lewandowski is a big risk if Barcelona want to compete for all competitions they’re involved in. 

• Frenkie De Jong is an excellent maestro in the midfield and pairing him with Oriol Romeu made him explore his full abilities in the midfield. Unarguably the best player in today’s game. 

• Abde was electric and people would be watching out for him since he didn’t get loaned or sold.

• The red card on Raphinha was uncalled for. Clearly La Liga referees have something against Barcelona. 

• Lewandoski has off since preseason and I hope he doesn’t carry that into the season. Barcelona needs him to be sharp and dangerous in front of goal. Or is age telling on him now?

The penalty not given also could clearly justified why I said so. 

But anyways, there is still so much to play for and be hopeful for. This is just the first game of the season. We still have 37 games to decide our fate. 

In essence, we shouldn’t let our guards down, Fc Barcelona must do better if they want to retain their title as Champions of Spain again.
