Official: Barcelona’s defender Clément Lenglet joins Aston Villa on a season long loan.
Clément Lenglet who was on loan to Tottenham last season returned to Barcelona this summer after completing his loan spell.
On returning to Barcelona, it was clear that he was not in Xavi’s plan for new campaign. He found himself below the pecking order with the likes of Ronald Araujo, Jules kounde, Andreas Christensen and newly recruited Basque defender Inigo Martinez all above him in terms of selection.
During his time at Tottenham, Lenglet played twenty-six times in the English Premier League where he appeared on the scoresheet once and provided two assists. He also featured seven times for the London side in the UEFA Champions League.
The Frenchman has now completed his move to Aston villa on a season long loan. His return to the premier league to fill the space left by an injured Tyrone Mings.
