BARCELONA VS REAL BETIS MATCH REVIEW




In what seems to be a thrilling encounter between the two clubs, it rained in goals in what appears to be a one sided encounter with Barcelona coming out victorious after the two weeks internationals breaks.


Fc Barcelona ran riot against a strong Real Betis side. Barcelona stars outclassed Pellegrini’s men. 

Joao Felix scoring his first goal for Fc Barcelona while been instrumental in the build up to Lewandowski goal as Barcelona went 2-0 before the half time. Barcelona were relentless as they kept pushing in for more goals but were unable to make it 3 goals up before the break. Lewandowski came so close when a loose ball from Joao Felix fell to his foot and saw his shot blocked by the Real Betis defender.


Xavi wasn’t done with Real Betis yet as Ferran Torres free kick goal in the 62nd minute saw Barcelona 3-0 with no response from Manuel Pellegrini’s men on his 70th birthday.


Second half substitute Raphinha scored his first goal of the season with his first touch into the game as Lewandowski was able to sit him up inches away from the box. An outside the box goal from Raphinha to the left hand side of the goalkeeper to beat Francisco Vieities as he replaced Rui Silva immediately after the break. 


Barcelona wasn’t done with Real Betis yet as Lewandowski again set up Joao Cancelo for Barcelona fifth goal. Joao Cancelo turned away from former ex Barcelona player Hector Bellinrin before blasting the shot into the net from close range. Ter Stegen was tested once before the break but saved the ball from going in. He was tested again towards the end of the match as he saved a curler from Betis winger Juan Cruz. 

 

Lewandowski was also close to getting a his a second goal tonight as his back heel shot was saved by the goalkeeper.



PLAYERS RATING


1. TER STEGEN: 9/10


He wasn’t tested much but whenever he was put to the test he delivered twice. The Barcelona captain got his 3rd clean sheet this season. 


2. JULES KOUNDE 8/10


It was a rocky performance for Kounde as he misplaced a lot of ball in the first half. But he had a solid performance in the second half. A great performance from the France international. 


3. CHRISTENSEN 8.3/10


With an assist to Lewandowski to set up the second goal, Christensen was ahead of his teammates at defense. 


4. JOAO CANCELO 8.8/10


Joao Cancelo scored on his debut start. With a beautiful goal in the 81st minute, he beat Bellerin before blast his shot into the net. He was also a threat in attack with his dangerous passes into the box. He had a wonderful performance and deserves a 9/10 rating. 


5. ALEJANDRO BALDE 8/10


With his speed, Balde did a great job linking up with Joao Felix in attack. It was lethal combination between two of them and a productive one as many chances was created through the left flank. 


6. ORIOL ROMEU 8/10


His visionary pass to pick up & set up Joao Felix for the first goal didn’t get unnoticed. He wasn’t easily displaced whenever he had the ball and he was the calm to the storm in the midfield. 


7. GAVI 7/10


Gavi was the workforce in the midfield  with more ground duels won and a lot of tactical fouls. 


8. FRENKIE DE JONG 8.4/10


The orchestrator of plays in the midfield, Frenkie De Jong did not go unnoticed again as he had 119 touches, 104/110 accurate passes, 5(4) successful long balls, he was the heart of the midfield controlling the tempo of the game. 


9. FERRAN TORRES 7.6/10


Ferran Torres was on the scoresheet again but this time direct from a free kick. As he curled the ball around the walls set up to beat the goalkeeper from 20 yards out. He has scored 3 goals so far this season. 


10 JOAO FELIX 8.7/10


Joao Felix scored his first goal for Fc Barcelona on his debut start for the club. He picked up Oriol Romeu pass and a first time miss kicked ball to beat the on rushing goalkeeper before playing it into the net from an impossible angle. He was also instrumental in allowing the ball pass under his leg to set up Lewandowski for Barcelona second goal. 


11. LEWANDOWSKI 8.8/10

 

Lewandowski scored the second goal tonight before setting up Raphinha & Cancelo for Barcelona 4th & 5th goal. That makes it one goal & two assist for Robert Lewandowski. 


12. RAPHINHA 7/10


Coming in for Ferran Torre, Raphinha got his first goal this season as he scored an outside the box goal. 


13. GUNDOGAN 6.7/10


He saw his effort miss by an inch from Alonso cross. He failed to make it 6 goals tonight. 


14. LAMINE YAMAL 6/10


He had a good link up with Balde, Cancelo and Raphinha. He was played at the left flank and switched sides with Raphinha. 


15. ALONSO 6/10


He saw his chance created missed narrowly by Gundogan


16. INIGO MARTINEZ 6/10


He conceded the only yellow card for Barcelona
