BARCELONA VS SHAKHTAR DONETSK MATCH REVIEW

The third group stage game of the season between La Liga giants Fc Barcelona Vs Shakhtar Donetsk went underway with many of the first team players missing for Barcelona and with Gavi undergoing a suspension for receiving a red card against Porto, Xavi made few changes to the team that started against Athletic Bilbao. Xavi opted for the following lineup.

Ter Stegen, Joao Cancelo, Ronald Araujo, Inigo Martinez, Marcos Alonso, Fermin Lopez, Oriol Romeu, Ikay Gundogan, Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres and Joao Felix. Araujo started ahead of Christensen, Marcos Alonso started ahead of Balde, Lamine Yamal also started while Gavi serves his suspension.

Barcelona started the game strongly while posing threats against their opposition. Ferran Torres opened the score line after Fermin Lopez came so close with his shot hitting the crossbar after receiving a beautiful pass from Gundogan. And with the rebound, Ferran Torres made no mistake in firing into the empty post.

Fermin Lopez finally had his goal when a through cutpass from Inigo Martinez broke the defense line of Shakhtar to find Ferran Torres who made no mistake in squaring it for Fermin Lopez and fired from outside the box to beat Dmytro Riznyk. The ball hit the woodwork before going in 2-0.

Sixty two minutes into the game and Georgiy Sudakov  received a  through pass from Irakli Azarovi that broke the defense of Barcelona before firing pass Ter Stegen.

Barcelona fell apart in the second half and their game performance dropped a little after some substitutions were made. Barcelona were faced with an injury scare when a rough tackle on Joao Felix fell him into the ground and forced a substitution on Xavi. Marc Guiu who scored the only goal in their last match replaced the Portuguese international.

Barcelona held on for the remaining part of the game scooping all three points to make it nine points out of nine points. Three games three wins as the sit comfortably at the top of the table. Despite the injury crisis, Xavi Hernandez men and La Masia students have made it to 16 unbeaten run this season as they face Real Madrid in the league on Saturday.

Do you think Barcelona can pull a comfortably win against the Galaticos and move ahead of them in the table?
